ROH trip 1

A group of our RAD students were treated to a trip to see the Royal Ballet performing at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in a wonderful mixed bill of Frederick Ashton ballets. A huge thank you to our RAD teacher Mr Simpkins for organising this treat of a trip, accompanied by Mrs Gielgud.

Ellie – BTUK School

Congrats to our prefect Ellie Bennett, who has successfully auditioned for the School of Ballet Theatre UK in Hinkley, and will commence on their 3 year Ballet Degree Course in September.

Ballet exams

Wow – what wonderful results for our ISTD ballet exams. Out of 17 entrants, we had 10 distinctions and 7 strong merits. Congrats to everyone, especially to our wonderful pianist Mr Heard, who played all day. We’re so lucky to have him as our ballet pianist playing live for us every Saturday for all our ballet classes – not just at exam time!

Carina at the Place

Gielgudian and forrner (and our very first) GAPA Head Girl, Carina Howard, is performing this week in Mark Bruce Dance Company’s production of Frankenstein. We were thrilled to see her dance brilliantly at the Place in London, further tour dates can be found on the Mark Bruce website.

Louis in Mamma Mia

Huge congratulations to Gielgudian Louis Wallond who will be joining the cast of Mamma Mia in the role of Pepper on board Royal Carribean Cruise Lines – Allure of the Seas on a world cruise.

Jasper in Dune 2

Gielgudian Jasper Ryan Cater was at his premiere tonight of Dune 2 at the Odeon Leciester Square, London. This was Jasper’s first major movie role since graduating from Mountview where he trained after GAPA. We’re so proud of you Jasper!

Issy in Puss in Boots

Congratulations to Gielgudian and former GAPA dance captain Issy Hateley who has been performing in professional panto all this month as part of her journey at BTUK School. Pictured here with her sister, current GAPA pupil, Olivia.

Wonderful GAPA trip today to see John Partridge starring in the Horsham pantomime.

BTUK School visit

Mrs Gielgud had such a wonderful day today at the School of Ballet Theatre UK visiting Gielgudians Issy Hateley, Isobel Charman, Rosie Roff and former GAPA Head Girl Eve Lewis. An afternoon of class presentations showcased their strong ballet technique that they have been polishing on the BTUK school ballet degree course.

Bailey in Panto

Gielgudian and former GAPA head boy Bailey Johnson performs in professional panto this year at the Wimbledon Theatre in London in Cinderella. Well done Bailey!
