Rosie – BTUK School
Good luck to Gielgudian Rosie Roff who starts her training on the ballet degree course at the School of Ballet Theatre UK this term.
Congratulations to all our pupils that performed so brilliantly in our end of year presentation on Saturday. A massive thankyou to all out parent helpers, Team Gapa and our wonderful faculty. It was also really great to have Gielgudian James Furnell and West End legend John Partridge hand out prizes to this years medal winners.
What a treat for Gapa prefect Nellie to see Gielgudian Matt (Hill) Trevorrow performing in Disneys new musical Newsies last night. So lovely to see our former pupils working in the profession. Well done Matt!
We had a wonderful evening at the Royal Opera House last night seeing the Royal Ballet’s production of the Sleeping Beauty. Thanks to Mr Simpkins who awarded the RAD seniors this treat as part of the John O’Brien award.
Happy Coronation day at GAPA
We all enjoyed a red, white and blue day today in celebration of the Kings coronation.
GAPA trip to Cinderella
A special evening at the Royal Opera House was had by some of our RAD ballet pupils last night, thanks to Mr Simpkins who awarded them the treat as part of the John O’Brien award. The treat was a ticket to see the Royal Ballet’s production of Cinderella.
Exam Success
Congratulations to all our exam candidates who smashed it in our recent ISTD Ballet, Modern and Tap exams.
In our Ballet exams we were awarded 10 Distinctions and 10 Merits.
In our Modern exams we were awarded 13 Distinctions and 10 Merits.
In our Tap exams we were awarded 13 Distinctions, 12 Merits, and 1 Pass. No fails!
Special mention to Ella who achieved our highest ever mark for Intermediate Ballet – 90/100.
Olivier Awards
Gielgudian Matt (Hill) Trevorrow enjoys a night with his cast of Newsies who picked up an Olivier award last night for Best Musical Choreography 2023.
