Congratulations to all the GAPA pupils who did incredibly well in our recent ballet, modern and tap exams. A huge shout out goes to our GAPA dance captain Maddie Wrigley who scored a perfect mark of 100/100 for her grade 6 modern exam – making GAPA history!

ISTD Senior Ballet Awards 2019
Congratulations to all our Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6/Intermediate Foundation and Intermediate competitors in the ISTD Imperial Ballet Awards at the Hawth Theatre, Crawley on March 2nd and 3rd. Huge well done to them all, especially to Ella Richardson (Grade 3), Martha Gibson (Grade 4) and Bailey Johnson (Grade 6/Inter F) for being Finalists, and to Beatrice Jenkins (Grade 3) for being a Finalist and being awarded with a class commendation.

Gielgudian Success!
Coppelia
Congratulations to GAPA pupils Alice Gibson, Caitlin Bending, Eloise Harwood, Isabelle Hateley and Eve Lewis who all performed as the dolls in Coppelia with the Vienna Festival Ballet (VFB) last night. The performance was at Clair Hall, Haywards Heath as part of VFBs 2018-19 UK tour.
Rosie Kay Dance Company
Congratulations to Gielgudian and former GAPA head girl Carina Howard who danced brilliantly last night at the Southbank, London, in ‘MK Ultra’ with the Rosie Kay Dance Company. Carina is currently on tour in this exciting production with the Company across the UK – catch them if you can. Details on the Rosie Kay website.
Bat out of Hell
Congratulations to Gielgudian Isaac Edwards who is currently performing in Bat Out of Hell in the West End. GAPA pupils and faculty were thrilled to watch Isaac in the show last night and catch up with him at the stage door after the show.
GAPA goes to Tring Park
Congratulations to all the GAPA pupils who went up to the prestigious Tring Park this week for their intensive week long summer school. Mrs G and former Tring pupil Laura Veazey enjoyed watching everyone dance beautifully on the last day and meeting up with Gielgudian Hannah Wood (picture centre with Miss Laura) who is in her 2nd Year at Tring.
GAPA Faculty Update
GAPA is thrilled to welcome Genevieve Nicole to the GAPA faculty in September to teach Jazz. Genevieve trained at The Arts Educational School (now Tring Park) where she also gained her teaching qualifications and she has worked ceaselessly since graduating. Professional theatre credits include; A Chorus Line in the West End and the UK tours of Hairspray, Chicago (as Velma), The Producers and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (The Savoy, London) amongst others. She has also appeared on many TV shows and was a semi finalist as a choreographer on Diet on the Dance Floor.
We are also thrilled to welcome back Ruth Armstrong to GAPA who has been promoted to our Head of Modern and Tap dept. Miss Ruth will be teaching the senior modern and tap students. Recently Miss Ruth’s tap amalgamation was selected for the new ISTD Intermediate tap syllabus, which is now being introduced to ISTD students and teachers worldwide. Miss Ruth also teaches at Urdang Academy and Bird College.
West End debut for Gielgudian Toby
Congratulations to Gielgudian Toby Miles, who has recently joined the cast of Les Miserables in the West End playing the role of Marius. Toby trained at GAPA and appeared in our 2012 and 2013 end of year shows at the Hub. Toby completed his training at the Arts Educational Schools, London.
