Look out for Gielgudians Isaac Edwards and Matt (Hill) Trevorrow who are appearing tonight on the BBC’s Big Night of Musicals – Isaac in the cast of We Will Rock You and Matt in the cast of Newsies.
Move It!
Huge congratulations to Gielgudian Issy whose choreography group piece was selected by the School of Ballet Theatre to represent them at ‘Move It’ in London this weekend. Such a well deserved honour to see Issy’s choreographic skills on display that were first honed at our very own Gapa Creates competitions.
BTUK
Mrs Gielgud was thrilled to visit the School of Ballet Theatre UK last night to see Gielgudian’s Isabel, Issy and Eve in their First year degree Student show. Very proud to see that Issy and Isobel performing in pieces that they had choreographed themselves.
Billy Byers in West End Debut
Congratulations to GAPA prefect Billy Byers who made his West End debut recently at the Donmar Warehouse in Watch on the Rhine. Billy played the role of alongside a stellar cast including acting heavyweight Patricia Hodge. Well done Billy – we’re all so proud of you.

Exam Success
Congratulations to our pupils and faculty for the fabulous recent set of ISTD ballet and modern exam results. We had no fails, no straightforward pass marks, 27 merits (mostly high), and 26 distinctions across both sessions. Fantastic!
Newsies!
Congratulations to Gielgudian Matt (Hill) Trevorrow who opened in the new smash hit Disney musical Newsies last night at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre.
GAPA Summer School 2022
Congratulations to all our fabulous pupils who took part in the GAPA summer school this year. There was some brilliant choreography on display yesterday and much fun had by all.
GAPA Show 2022
On July 2nd and 3rd we held our first GAPA show since covid and our first back at the Hub since 2017. Congratulations to all our performers and especially to our prizewinners and prefects. Our new head girl was announced as Bella Evans, Head prefect as Ella Richardson and Dance Captain as Libby Saunders. Please see our medal winners page for the full list of award winners.
GAPA girls to BTUK School
Congratulations to our Head Girl, Eve, and our Dance Captain, Isabelle, who have both accepted their places at the School of Ballet Theatre UK on the 3-year BA Hons degree course in Ballet Performance. Eve was also awarded a place at London Studio Centre, and Issy a place at Northern School of Contemporary Dance and the London School of Contemporary Dance. We’re thrilled that they start at BTUK School in September 2022. Good luck girls!
GAPA trip to Chicago
GAPA girls Issy, Emily, Eve and Nellie were thrilled to meet West End star Djalenga Scott after her brilliant performance as ‘Velma’ in ‘Chicago’ last night at the Hawth. The show is currently on its 2022 tour and GAPA Principal Suzanne Gielgud was delighted to introduce Djalenga to the GAPA girls, post-show. In 2008, Djalenga appeared in a short film ‘The Dream’ which was written and directed by Suzanne to showcase Djalenga’s talents as an actor and singer.
